“There’s a huge debate on this and I’m getting confused. Am I supposed to eat the calories I burn from exercising?”
To be honest, I had never heard of anyone doing that until I got on tumblr. When I was in the process of building muscle and losing fat, I had a fairly set amount of calories I was eating. That would shift slightly depending on my activity level that day (leg day and more active days I would eat a little more), but I never literally tried to eat back the calories I burned on say, the treadmill. I found success in this, but I can see why some people might need to eat back calories (like for example: if you’re eating very little to begin with and then running long distances).. you don’t want to leave your body with too few calories, otherwise your organs cannot function at their highest level. This basal number differs from person to person. There are some calculators online that can provide you with your BMR, but remember, online calculators are just guesstimates. To have an accurate number, you need to see a dietician or other specialist.
